Poll affidavit case: SC quashes clean chit to Devendra Fadnavis, paves way for his trial

The Supreme Court on Tuesday set aside the concurrent clean chit by trial court and Bombay HC to Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis in the case of filing false election affidavit thus paving the way for his trial. The petitioner had alleged that Fadnavis, in his election affidavit filed in 2014, had failed to disclose the pendency of two criminal cases against him.

Supreme Court allows govt's plea for review of SC/ST Act
