EC bars JDU from contesting Jharkhand Assembly elections on 'arrow' symbol

​​The concession will not be granted to JD(U) in Maharashtra either, where Shiv Sena has been allotted the same 'bow and arrow' symbol. Both Maharashtra and Jharkhand are due for assembly election later this year. ​​Earlier in March this year, EC had disallowed JMM and Shiv Sena from fighting any poll in Bihar on their reserved symbol "bow and arrow", citing its similarity with JD(U)'s 'arrow' symbol in both nomenclature and design.
