Shirdi trust gives Rs 500-crore loan, blessings to Maharashtra project

The cash-starved Fadnavis government secured an interest-free loan of Rs 500 crore from the Saibaba Temple Trust of Shirdi for completion of pending works of the Nilwande irrigation project to meet the drinking-water needs of most tehsils in Ahmednagar district. The loan proposal was approved on February 1 and the order to release funds in two instalments was issued on Saturday.
