Wetlands disappearing 3 times faster than forests threatening fresh water supplies: Report

Wetlands, which directly or indirectly provide almost all of the world’s consumption of fresh water, are disappearing three times faster than forests, says the first-ever Global Wetland Outlook released on Thursday by the Ramsar Convention - a global treaty of 170 countries, including India, to protect the most valuable ecosystem.
