11 killed in rain-related incidents; North India reels under hot weather conditions

Eleven people were killed in rain and lightning related incidents in the country, even as northern parts of India on Monday reeled under hot weather conditions. Heavy showers pounded Mumbai and adjoining Thane district as Southwest Monsoon picked up momentum in the region.
